“Although my father and mother have forsaken me, the Lord with take me up”. – Psalm 27:10
This has been a fun month celebrating Honduras! On September 15th, it was Independence Day for Honduras, and this week we celebrated Semana Morazánica! Semana Morazánica is celebrated to honor General Francisco Morazán, a national hero of Honduras, and to promote domestic tourism by combining three October holidays into one extended break.
Which means for us at Emmanuel, no school and a lot of fun! We did two days of yard games like tug of war, sack races, and relays, held a soccer tournament, and capped off the evening with fireworks. The school put on a celebration sharing the culture of Honduras with traditional dress, songs, and dances. It is always a fun time at Emmanuel, and a good break before the final month of school and exams.
